The Yolande Heijnen Exhibition Has Opened in the Almayer Art & Heritage Hotel

Hotel Almayer Art & Heritage is located in a charming part of the Peninsula. Since the opening of the hotel, it has profiled itself as an ideal place for guests seeking peace and a touch of exclusivity. The carefully planned and arranged area is a place where the local population is happy to have a cup of coffee, fine food and a glass of good wine.

However, in addition to accommodation and hospitality activities, it is also ideal for organizing various art exhibitions, since the hotel also has an art gallery. These days, a sales exhibition of Yolande Heijnen, a renowned artist, illustrator and designer with a long-standing American address, has opened in the hotel.

In the Almayer Gallery, the artist presents a selected selection of paintings from her wide and magical artistic works. The subject matter of Heijnen's paintings is diverse, but always connected with exploring bodies, people, movements, human relationships and life moments.

Heijnen was born and grew up in Luxembourg. She is of Dutch nationality. She has been living in New York since 1998 where she has built a career in the fashion industry while, at the same time, studying visual art and painting. She has been active in the art and fashion scene for more than 25 years. During the period of her artistic work, she has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions, and is the winner of many prestigious awards and artistic residencies.

The Yolande Heijnen exhibition is of sales character and open to the public. Those interested in buying the exhibited works of art can have all the information needed on the works by inquiring at the reception of the hotel or at email address: irina@almayer.hr

However, it is not the sole exhibition to be seen in the hotel. Namely, works of the Croatian artist Hrvoje Mark Peruzović are also exhibited. This versatile artist, painter, graphic artist, illustrator, sculptor, photographer and writer is presenting a selection of his artistic paintings in the Almayer Hotel Gallery.

As we were told by Vjekoslav Bobić, general manager and at the same time owner of the hotel together with his wife Irina Bakija, they try to organize such exhibitions several times a year.

- In cooperation with our curator Marija Jurun, and domestic and foreign artists, we organize exhibitions periodically, several times a year, and change the display of the exhibited works of art. Our gallery is open to the public from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with prior notification to the hotel reception. All the exhibitions are also sales exhibitions whereby the exhibited works can be bought. We have already sold a number of paintings and have had the opportunity to send the works all over the world. The focus of our gallery is on contemporary art and photography. We have exhibited until now works of numerous domestic and foreign artists – the owner told us.

That is not all, said Bobić, for during the opening of the exhibition special Art&Dine tasting dinners are organized in their Corte Restaurant

-  Besides art exhibitions, we have had the opportunity of organizing and presenting books in our hotel (Mani Gotovac) and to participate at the Kalibar Festival –Bobić pointed out.

The artists with which they have had the opportunity of cooperating are Andrea Musa, Branka Riđički, Jasna Barišić, Carsten Weck, Vladimir Davidenko, Dagmar Venus, Wolfgang Brenner, Hrvoje Marko Peruzović and Yolande Heijnen.
