TSWF In a Refreshed Form Attracted Many and Announced the Tourist Spring
The five-day seventh Tuna, Sushi & Wine Festival which was organized by the Zadar City Tourist Office and its partners best announced its new and refreshed format of the tourist spring and summer. This was obvious from the daily visits to the festival tent on Petar Zoranić Square by the inhabitants of Zadar and its tourists.
The main, gastronomy part of the program, then the accompanying entertainment and workshops as well as other contents organized during the five days were obviously attractive to many. Precisely and due to such a large visit, the main goal of the event was achieved: the promotion of Zadar and Zadar County as a destination for good food, and the healthiest one coming from the sea. Zadar is a city of fish, the center of the most fishing Croatian county where, among other things, the most fishing locality is Kali in which the breeding of white fish was designed, as well as the method of supplementing tuna in cages, and all this has made Zadar the center of Croatian mariculture.
In this edition of gastronomic, entertainment and tourist events, the Zadar City Tourist Office found a creative partner, a group of young chefs and barmen gathered around the Picnic Mingle & Fun project and Vedran Božićev. This team not only changed the meat fast food assortment of this movable kitchen but set up the culinary and main part of the festival. The culinary performances of the known chefs Marijo Mandarić, Saša Began, Josip Vrsaljko and Robert Pinto with students from the Zadar Hotel, Tourism, Hospitality and Catering School, the Ston oysters from the Zadar company Marikomerc managed to keep sushi completely fresh by perfect freezing of Cromaris fish, splendid, big bass from the Ugljan company Mar Fish and much more, tasty and interesting, made the festival a serious but relaxing gastronomy event. Therefore, a festival format has been established, which should be maintained and successively upgraded every year.
Tuna, Sushi & Wine Festival is strongly supported by the Zadar City Tourist Office, Zadar County, Zadar County Tourist Board, Croatian Ministry of Tourism and Sport and other partners such as Metro, Maraska, Marikomerc, Pelagos, Zadar vintners who poured their premium wines throughout the festival days, Back2Basic Barmen Association and many others.
The Hotel, Tourism and Hospitality and Catering School is a permanent partner in all such events of the Zadar City Tourist Office, so it is quite justified that the collected humanitarian funds from the festival, or 10 percent of the total income, is to be allocated to that school for equipping specialized cabinets.
