Zadar Greets Travellers in Dreams

A late antique drawing coloured with a quill, in the travel book of Konrad von Grünenberg from 1486, represents the earliest saved graphic display of Zadar. It resembles more a poetic vision than a depiction of reality. One can only dream of such cities. Today it seems that Grünenberg had precisely that on his mind, that Zadar is one of those rare cities that visits travellers often and lastingly in dreams.
