Varoš Festival

For one evening, the familiar streets of this historic Zadar neighbourhood, specially decorated for the occasion, will once again become one large open-air gathering place, bringing together neighbours, locals and visitors. In the warm atmosphere of a September evening, Varoš will come alive with its familiar Mediterranean rhythm: relaxed, spontaneous and best enjoyed in good company.

This year’s programme spreads across the main streets of Varoš, with live music from 8 p.m. in Stomorica, Varoška and Kovačka streets. Ante and Krešo, Duo Gitman and Trio fritula will set the mood for the evening with familiar tunes and an easy-going repertoire.

From 10 p.m., the stage in Stomorica Street will welcome Klapa Munita and Đani Maršan. Their performance will combine traditional klapa harmonies with timeless Dalmatian songs, providing the perfect soundtrack to one of the last long, warm evenings of the season in Zadar’s old streets.

Alongside the music, visitors can enjoy a selection of local specialities and traditional dishes prepared by Varoš restaurants and konobas.

Above all, the Varoš Festival is an invitation to slow down for an evening, leave everyday obligations behind and simply enjoy the atmosphere. With good food, familiar melodies, spontaneous encounters and lively conversation, locals and visitors will come together to bid farewell to another long and warm Zadar summer.
