European Mobility Week 2026
The City of Zadar is once again taking part in European Mobility Week, held from 16 to 22 September under this year’s theme, “Mobility for Everyone!”. In doing so, Zadar joins a Europe-wide initiative bringing together 1,792 cities from 41 European countries.
This year’s theme highlights the different needs and challenges people of all ages face in their everyday mobility, from children and young people to adults and older citizens. The aim is to encourage the development of a transport environment that enables everyone to move safely, independently and with equal access, while fully participating in community life.
Throughout the week, citizens can take part in a range of activities and workshops, while the main event will be held on Saturday, 19 September, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Zadar’s city walls.
Alongside this year’s theme, the campaign continues to promote the familiar messages “Mix and Move!” and “Mobility for Everyone!”, encouraging people to walk, cycle and combine these forms of mobility with public transport. In addition to helping protect the environment, walking and cycling have positive effects on health and are accessible and affordable options for many everyday journeys.
European Mobility Week is also an opportunity to remind ourselves just how important safe pedestrian and cycling connections, accessible public spaces and reliable public transport are for quality of life, whether we are travelling to school, work, a medical appointment or simply meeting family and friends.
