Zadar Organ Festival is a unique project, the first organ festival in Zadar region and the only festival of this kind in Croatia and its surroundings.

This year´s edition will include six concerts - from August 12 to September 16, 2019 - featuring renowned international and Croatian artists. The concerts will be held in four locations - in the churches of St. Stošije and St. Mihovila, the Puppet Theater of Zadar and the atrium of the Cedulin Palace. In addition to the program, Zara Art Association will organize an event where children and young people will present their work through multi-day, also interdisciplinary workshops (music, dance and art).

Along with a regular program of organ concerts combined with other instruments and singers, the ZOF program will include interdisciplinary and multimedia performances, contemporary tendencies in art, reviewing the traditional frameworks of approach and art at all, deconstructing numerous stereotypes, expanding the perception of the instrument´s expressive capabilities, and encouraging free and creative expression. In its layered structure it will integrate the history of Zadar throughout the centuries, utilizing the already existing element within the marine organs and raising the value of the less well-known and unfairly neglected Zadar instruments.

These projects will include an innovative research and education approach, both in the organ and repertoire instrument, as well as in the possibility of networking with other artistic expressions. With such a comprehensive and wide-ranging approach, the first edition of the festival aims to find its place among the great world of festivals, thus helping to raise the artistic reputation of the ancient city of Zadar.
