The event was created with one clear
idea: to bring the islands of the Zadar Archipelago together through a shared
outdoor adventure. Runners can cover long distances, but they cannot cross the
sea between islands. The solution was a multi-stage format in which
participants explore different islands and travel between them by boat.
The result is much more than a
traditional race. It is a late-summer escape where movement becomes a way to
discover the destination.

Three islands, one shared adventure
Each island brings a different
character to the weekend.
Pašman becomes
the main base and social heart of the weekend. Friday’s programme includes the Brooks
Shakeout Run, Friday Run Experience and Sunset Vertical, while Sunday brings
trail races and the second hiking stage through the island’s authentic and
less-explored landscape.
On Saturday, the adventure
continues on Dugi Otok. After travelling across the sea, participants
take on trails of 10, 25 or 35 kilometres, as well as a
shorter hiking route, surrounded by coastal paths, rocky terrain and open views
of the Adriatic.
Ugljan welcomes participants with a
relaxed Friday running experience from Preko, taking them through olive
groves and towards panoramic views from St. Michael’s Fortress. The island also
hosts the start of the first stage of the new two-day hiking experience.
Choose your own island experience
Archipelago Trail Run offers several
ways to participate. Runners can select one individual race or combine multiple
stages into a complete island-hopping weekend. Distances range from
approachable short routes to longer and more technical trail challenges.
Those who prefer to explore at a
slower pace can join the hiking experiences – choose between a 10 km hike on Pašman, a 10 km hike on Dugi Otok, or a two-day hiking experience across the
islands of Ugljan and Pašman.

Run, explore and stay for the
guštanje
October brings a special atmosphere to
the Zadar Archipelago. The busiest summer weeks are over, but the sea remains
warm and the islands return to their relaxed local rhythm.
Participants are encouraged to arrive
earlier or stay a little longer—to swim in a quiet bay, walk through an island
village, enjoy local food, watch the sunset and experience what Dalmatians call
guštanje: enjoying the simple pleasures of sea, food, movement and good
company.
Archipelago Trail Run is not only
about reaching the finish line. It is about discovering the islands, sharing
the experience and extending summer for one more unforgettable weekend.
