Gastronomic Tour of Advent 2024 in Zadar, Fourth Part

Slavonian Magic

We found great innovation and diversity of the offer at the Slavonian Magic house, which is well known to the Zadar audience. After a year of break from having a stall at the Advent, they returned in a spectacular way and presented themselves with torn lamb. They slowly roasted the rolled lamb shoulder and then tore it into strips in lamb fat. Young Anđela Jerković skillfully served it in a bun with white kebab sauce, a little arugula and red onion. Finger lickin’ good! This year they also have salmon breaded in an orly mixture with tartare, cocktail sauce and stewed zucchini with garlic.

They also offer kebabs rolled in ham with homemade smoked cheese and thin dough. After being processed in a fryer, it is crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside and melt in your mouth… We must also mention their signature cocktail, which is called – Hot bećarac! It is made with apple juice, grapes, chili peppers, cinnamon and cloves.

Topli kutić

Just as we thought we had seen and tasted everything and how it could not get any better, we stopped by the Topli kutić stall. The cheerful team prepared us a fragrant warm cocktail, served us soft fritters, and then a burger arrived on the table. The barbecue version with homemade sauce and a 100% beef patty, which is seasoned when it is placed on the grill, also includes lettuce, cheddar cheese, pancetta and pickles in a fresh bun. Their version of the classic meal is a complete success and we predict it will be a hit at the Advent.

Their Double Cheese burger includes, in addition to beef, aioli and mayonnaise sauce, cheddar and mozzarella, and instead of tomatoes – roasted peppers.

Kod rođee, Lavova kućica and Didova kućica

Three houses of the same owners, veterans of the Zadar Advent who have been at it since the first edition. Located on Trg Petra Zoranića, right in front of the stage, they are recognizable by the cuts of various types of sausages they offer. They are ready to be consumed in the blink of an eye with a side dish of your choice. They have sausages with cheese, spicy and homemade, which are made especially for them and the Advent offer in the Zadar hinterland.

The classic offer of these three houses also includes hot dogs, hamburgers and fritters. With one addition – if you are looking for hot chocolate, creamy, thick and delicious, you will find it at the counter of the stall Kod rođee.

Winter Joy

Their shish kebabs and cinnamon rolls are among the best known at Zadar Christmas Market. The kebab is stuffed with cheese in a warm and soft bun with sauce and pieces of spring onion, very tasty, juicy and crispy. You can find several types of burgers, among which the Double Smash Burger with two 100-gram beef patties definitely stands out.

There are also homemade sausages, hot dogs, regular fries, sweet potatoes, or sweet potatoes with truffles and cheese. They offer three types of cocktails with whiskey, syrups and rum, as well as mulled gin and wine. The cinnamon rolls are being delivered to the stall three times a day, so that they are always fresh, juicy and delicious.
