The Proveditor's Palace “Cultural Attraction of the Year”
The Proveditor's Palace has been awarded the Croatian Tourist Board Award for the “Cultural Attraction of the Year“ at the final evening pf the Days of Croatian Tourism held in Amadria Park from October 6 to 8. The Poveditor's Palace shared first place with Arsen House of Art. The award was received by mayor Branko Dukić.
“The Duke's and the Proveditor's Palace are on their way to becoming what they once were - the epicenter of the culture of Zadar, a culture and art meeting place for the people of Zadar and guests of the city," said mayor Branko Dukić on that occasion.
“Today these two palaces are a unique and unavoidable place in the city and its cultural focal point. The focus is on promoting cultural creativity and affirming the cultural life of the city through a diversified program that satisfies the interests of a great number of visitors in combining local art programs and actors and hosting a great number of exhibitions and concerts” emphasized the head of the Culture and Sports Department Dina Bušić.

The Proveditor’s and Duke’s palaces are a unique architectural operation that has made this complex a cultural and artistic center not only in Zadar but Croatia also. This was confirmed during the year when the reconstruction project of the Palace by architects Igor Pedišić and Iva Letilović was declared the winner of two awards, that of Vladimir Nazor that is awarded by the Republic of Croatia as the best artistic achievement in 2021 in the field of architecture and urbanism in the Republic of Croatia, and the annual award Viktor Kovačić for the most successful achievement in all fields of architectural creativity in 2021 which was awarded by the Association of Croatian Architects..

The City of Zadar invested significant financial resources in the renovation of its cultural heritage whereby the value of the grants from EU funds amounted to over 120 million kuna in a period of 6 years. With the recent moving of the works of the National Museum of Modern Art to the Proveditor’s Palace, it will become a new "center" of modern art in Croatia and the first example of significant decentralization of the art fund of national museums to cities outside Zagreb.
