Photography Exhibition “Carnival to Go” in the City Streets of Zadar
There will be no Carnival this year, but an exhibition of photographs of the past Zadar Carnivals has been set up.
The traditional Zadar Carnival will not take place this year due to the crisis caused by the Coronavirus pandemic and restrictive measures, but the Carnival can still be seen in an exhibition of photographs suitably and humorously titled "Carnival to Go".
It is an exhibition of 146 photographs of Zadar photographers from various Carnival events over the past five years (from 2015 to 2020), placed on billboards in three city locations from the People’s Square (Narodni trg) to the new promenade on the Walls of the Zadar Uprisings (Bedemi zadarskih pobuna).

This exhibition was initiated by the Zadar Tourist Board in order to, says the author of the exhibition Neno Stojaković, remind us of the efforts and creativity of all those who participated in the Carnival in the past years.
“A more serious approach to the organization of the Zadar Carnival in the last two years has resulted in significant changes in the quality of the programme and greater interest of the public and the media. That is why the organizers of the event, the Zadar Tourist Board and Radio 057 as the organizer of the Children’s Carnival (Karnevalić), are trying to return the Carnival to its former famous traditions. It implies a lot of patience, work and time, but it can already be said that the value of the shares of the Zadar Carnival has jumped somewhat on the stock exchange of city events”, says Stojaković, stating the reasons for setting up the exhibition "Carnival to Go". The best moments of Zadar Carnivals, the most beautiful masks and craziest bits recorded in photographs can be seen until the end of the exhibition on 17th February, with the message from the organizers that, without a mask, but with a mask, we will see each other at the 2021 Zadar Carnival.
