Zadar is Richer With a New Urban City Hotel Miramare

This is definitely one of the longest stories in hotel construction, considered the fact that the works started back in the '80s of the past century. But at that time the Homeland War began which stopped the finalization of the hotel and the owner, Veljko Maričić, left for America. 

However, Zadar has always been his home, the home he came back to and decided to finish the long and carefully performed project, and the result is a very luxurious four-star hotel which is a significant addition to the Zadar tourist offer.  

Hotel Miramare is a pleasant place with beautifully decorated rooms and suites for a leisurely stay, and an attractive addition is the swimming pool in the courtyard. 

Hotel director Josip Đurin told us that with this building Zadar acquired a new urban city hotel that also has a conference room with 60 seats, equipped with multimedia equipment and ideal for various business meetings.

When we mention rooms, we must point out that all have a king size bed, actually two separate beds with the best mattresses and the finest linen. 

The Miramare Penthouse suite is especially attractive, a two-room suite with two completely equipped bathrooms. The terrace with a 180-degree view is accessed through both rooms, which gives every guest the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful Zadar sunrise and sunset, along with a view of the sea.

There is the charming cocktail caffe bar, as well as the à la carte Restaurant Kolonada where gourmet specialties made from exclusively local foods are served throughout the day in a cheerful and pleasant atmosphere, Đurin added. Besides being open for hotel guests, the restaurant is open to the public that wishes to try the dishes made from local fresh and organic foodstuffs supplied by local producers.  

- The foodstuffs are local and we offer a meat and fish menu, traditional for our region, the fish is freshly caught, the meat from local farms, and the prosciutto and other are from local psuppliers as well as the wine. The wine we offer is  from Degarra, Kraljevski vinogradi, Fiolić, all Zadar renowned vintners – said the Miramare director.

All of this is prepared by a local cook with many years of experience and knowledge of local gastronomy. The menu changes according to the season so that only the best local source ingredients are always on offer. 

But if our guests have a special need concerning food, the chefs will always meet their demands. 

In any case, Hotel Miramare is a good choice for a vacation, but also maybe a short stay in Zadar, for the city center is not far away.
