Exhibition | Intimate Portraits of Bugs
Artist Bojana Vukojević seeks to introduce visitors to a small gallery in Zadar to insects in a distinctive and humorous way.
Her fascination with these little creatures dates back to her student days, when, for her graduation thesis, she explored the history of her home region—covering everything from traditional stone markers (*mirila*) and folk costumes to a project titled "Little Creatures of Bukovica."
The exhibition by Bojana Vukojević showcases creatures that surround us every day—yet, due to their tiny size (sometimes even invisible to the naked eye), we often fail to notice them or realize what they truly look like. This, however, does not stop us from being afraid of them! The artist invites us to observe and get to know them—and perhaps even come to love them!
The exhibition is part of an artistic series titled "The Locals" (*Starosjedioci*), which was previously featured in a solo exhibition in Zadar and subsequently selected for the national exhibition at the 8th Painting Biennial.
