3rd International Festival “Organ of St. Anastasia”

On Wednesday, May 27, 2026, the 741st anniversary of the consecration of the Zadar Cathedral, one of the most important sacral and cultural monuments of Croatian heritage, will be solemnly marked in the Cathedral of St. Anastasia in Zadar. The ceremony will begin with a mass at 7 p.m. led by the Archbishop of Zadar, Milan Zgrablić, followed by the opening of the Third International Festival "Organ of St. Anastasia".

The festival will be opened by the Capella Sanctae Anastasiae ensemble, composed of prominent Croatian musicians. The program brings together top vocal soloists, trumpeters, timpani and organists, and will feature: Alen Kopunović Legetin (organ), Margareta Klobučar (soprano), Ana Ticl-Bušić (soprano), Kristijan Kostić (tenor), Antonio Bogojević (baritone), Dario Teskera (trumpet), Krešimir Fabijanić (trumpet), Vedran Kocelj (trumpet) and Borna Šercar (timpani). The concert features a festive program of sacred and baroque music with works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Henry Purcell, Dietrich Buxtehude, Joseph Haydn, Georg Philipp Telemann and other composers, symbolically connecting the liturgical tradition, concert art and organ heritage of the Zadar Cathedral.

This year's celebration brings together several significant anniversaries: the 741st anniversary of the consecration of the cathedral, the opening of the Third International Festival "Organ of St. Anastasia", 30 years of uninterrupted organ work by the cathedral organist Dragan Pejić and 45 years since the official founding of the Cathedral Choir of St. Anastasia. This is an event of particular importance for the spiritual, cultural and tourist life of the city of Zadar and the wider region.
