CROappella 2026

More than 70 participants and mentors from seven countries, world-renowned experts, the creator of the hit film Pitch Perfect, an international beatbox competition and a grand final concert at the Forum – all this is brought to you this weekend by the fourth edition of the CROappella festival, the only festival of contemporary a cappella music in Croatia.

The festival, which will take place from 24 to 26 July, is organised by the Zadar-based contemporary a cappella group A.K.A. Crescendo, which in just a few years has turned CROappella into an international gathering place for fans of vocal music, beatbox and music education.

This year's programme opens on Friday on the island of Ugljan, where the first workshops will be held in Preko. The arrival of Deke Sharon (USA), one of the world's most renowned experts in contemporary a cappella, a producer and music arranger who worked on the Pitch Perfect film series, is attracting particular attention. Participants can expect intensive workshops and education in the unique ambience of the Zadar archipelago.

The main festival day is Saturday, when the festival's grand opening will be held in the Grand Hall of the University of Zadar. The program will feature performances by the Zadar klapa Munita and Leo Rados, who will present the rich Croatian vocal tradition to international guests.

The opening will be followed by a series of workshops led by Sven Pocrnić, vocal coach of The Voice Kids Croatia and winner of the last season of the show Your Face Sounds Familiar.

The evening will culminate with the Adriatic Beatbox Battle, an international beatboxing competition that starts at 8:30 PM in the Polyvalent Hall of the Prince's Palace. Beatboxers from several European countries will compete for the title of the best, and the winner will be decided by a top international jury led by FootboxG, the world beatbox champion from Belgium, and Bass Ventura, the champion of the United Kingdom.

The festival ends on Sunday with workshops on choral singing, stage movement, stage presence, and the basics of beatboxing. The training will be led by Romina Maravić, head of the Believe Dance Center, Gina Damjanović, vocal coach and singer, and Luis Mosquera – Bass Ventura, one of Europe's leading beatbox artists.

The grand finale will be held on Sunday at 9:30 PM at the Zadar Forum, where the participants will present the results of their three-day work and joint music making to the audience during the final concert.
