Christmas celebrations at Zadar's City Market are getting an Irish twist! On Saturday, 26 December, at 9 PM, Božićni Gramofon, in collaboration with Urbofon, welcomes Belfast Food, the legendary Croatian band from Rijeka whose lively mix of Irish folk, Celtic rhythms and rock has been getting audiences dancing for three decades.
Founded in 1996 and inspired by iconic Irish bands such as The Pogues and The Dubliners, Belfast Food has developed a distinctive sound that combines traditional Celtic influences with a uniquely Croatian character. With fiddles, accordion, guitars and irresistible melodies, the band has created a rich repertoire of original songs and reimagined folk classics. Tracks such as "Šporki stari grad", "Van iz grada", "Mate i Matilda" and "Trivijalna stvar" have become firm favourites at their live performances.
