New Year's Eve at the Zadar Christmas Market & People's Square

The citizens of Zadar will enter the New 2023 accompanied by a rich program that starts already in the morning hours and is organized by the Zadar Tourist Board.

The warm-up begins with light sounds of jazz and the Black Coffee Band on Petar Zoranić Square with an abundant offer of food and drinks in the Advent houses. The new singer Danijela Prpić and the performance of the established trio made up of Renato Švorinić, Jadran Dučić - Ćićo and Ivan Ivić will enable the city inhabitants to hear known standard jazz and songs from the late album Subconsciously.

What the children of Zadar look forward to all year will happen at the same time on People's Square, where the children's New Year's Eve party will begin at 11 a.m. All the characters that children met during Advent will arrive from the land of imagination - Santa Claus, St. Nicholas, Krampus, Olaf, Anna, Elsa, St. Lucia … Besides hanging out with the children, there will be an educational performance What to Give a Man Who Has Everything which will point out the true values of Advent and the Christmas holidays. It is also clear that everywhere that the children's friends appear there will be sweets and prizes.

The central event is the countdown to noon, when children will release several hundred helium-filled balloons into the air. Everything will be in sign of joy, confetti, New Year's decorations …

This warming up shall be followed by New Year's Eve. Tonči Huljić & Madre Badessa band performances will start on stage somewhat after 10 p.m. to usher the inhabitants of Zadar into the New Year. The Split musician rarely performs for New Year's Eve and lately it happened only once on Ban Jelačić Square in Zagreb.

- This has been, by all accounts, a turbulent year, and that is why we want to see it off in style and enter the New Year with positivity. Those who have been following our work know that the music I have written for my own pleasure has been accepted by many and has made them happy. We will start slowly and then an explosive count down until the New Year, Huljić announced. They will be followed by the Dalmatian A-Capella group Rišpet, that will remain on stage until the early morning hours.

The audience on People's Square will also enter the New Year in a good mood with a DJ and the Forum group.
- We have prepared a cheerful, faster repertoire than what we usually play, which means that there will be a little less foreign songs and a lot more domestic ones, which are in line with the New Year's atmosphere. Following the countdown till midnight and New Year’s greetings, we will continue with our music until we see interest from the audience, Davor Pekota announced.

The inhabitants of Zadar will, of course, be able to be entertained for New Year's Eve in many of the locations in clubs on the Peninsula and city surroundings.
