Concert “Arbanasi from the Heart with Song”
On Tuesday, August 4th, starting at 8:30 PM, the Forum in Zadar will become the stage for a special musical event. The celebratory concert titled "Arbanasi od srca pjesmom" (Arbanasi from the Heart in Song) will take place on the occasion of Victory and Homeland Thanksgiving Day and Croatian Veterans Day. This year, it carries an even more deeply emotional resonance—marking the grand 300th anniversary of the arrival of the Arbanasi people in Zadar.
This unique jubilee will bring together numerous Zadar performers whose voices are inextricably linked to the musical identity of our city. Under the starry skies and against the iconic backdrop of the Peninsula, true local legends and esteemed musicians will take the stage: Đani Maršan, Bepo Matešić, Zoran Jelenković, Albino Pino Kotlar, Vili Kalmeta, Krešimir Perović, Leo Perović, Šime Ivčić, Šime Jelenković, Martina Stipčević Petani, Mario Petani, Nika Pastuović, and Duo Gitman.
Alongside the soloists, the special charm of Dalmatian song will be brought to life by our renowned klapa vocal groups: Klapa Arbanasi, Klapa Donat, Klapa Diadora, and Klapa Munita.
The audience can look forward to an evening filled with songs that have defined the musical heritage of Arbanasi, Zadar, and Dalmatia, including "Arbanasi, misto moje", "Arbanaške noći", "Zadre grade, vilo moja", "Misto kraj mora", "Zadar u mom srcu", "Stara zvona", and "Prozor prema zalazu".
Let us celebrate this important day for our city together and pay tribute to the rich tradition and culture that the Arbanasi community has woven into Zadar’s history over three centuries. Join us for an evening filled with pride, memories, and, above all, wonderful music!
The concert is organized by the City of Zadar and the Zadar Tourist Board. Admission is free.
