Condura Croatica
The first Sunday of December at Zadar Christmas Market offers a special evening of beautiful voices and rich musical tradition. On Sunday, 6 December, at 7 PM, Petar Zoranić Square will welcome Condura Croatica, one of Zadar's distinguished mixed choirs, whose performance will bring a warm and reflective atmosphere to the festive celebrations.
Founded in 2009 by former members of the University of Zadar's Academic Choir, Condura Croatica continues a long tradition of choral singing under the direction of maestro Ivo Nižić, a respected conductor, composer and music educator. The choir's diverse repertoire spans centuries of Croatian and international vocal music, from early medieval compositions to contemporary works. A particularly important part of their artistic identity is the preservation of Zadar's sacred musical heritage, including traditional Passion oratorios and religious musical dramas rooted in the region's medieval history.
Over the years, Condura Croatica has earned recognition through numerous performances and awards at national and international choral competitions. Their expressive harmonies, rich vocal sound and dedication to musical heritage make every performance a celebration of both artistry and tradition.
Set against the backdrop of sparkling Christmas lights and Zadar's charming historic centre, this concert invites visitors to slow down and experience a different side of the festive season. Join Condura Croatica at Petar Zoranić Square for a peaceful Sunday evening filled with beautiful music, local heritage and the timeless spirit of Christmas!
