The Archaeological Museum Zadar and the Archaeological Museum Osijek are pleased to invite you to the opening of the exhibition Batina – The Treasure of the Cross: A Silver Coin Find from the Time of the First Crusade on Friday, May 15, 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Archaeological Museum Zadar.
In the far east of Croatia, along the banks of the Danube, is the settlement of Batina, which has yielded a large number of finds during systematic archaeological research. Among them, a particularly valuable and unexpected find stands out – a hoard of 56 medieval coins, or silver denarii, minted in the territory of southern France during the First Crusade.
