The second concert of this year’s Zadar Organ Festival takes us back to Četiri kantuna, to the small Church of St Michael, whose choir loft houses a charming and valuable historical instrument from the school of Petar Nakić.

The instrument was saved from neglect and deterioration thanks to the current guardian, Friar Niko Barun, who, together with the other members of the monastery, always warmly opens the doors of the church and welcomes the artists of the Zadar Organ Festival.

This year, Trio Solemnis will perform both on and alongside this instrument. Founded in Zagreb in 2016, the ensemble brings together three experienced and established musicians: soprano Nina Kobler, violinist Krešimir Marmilić and organist Milan Hibšer.

The programme includes works by Bach, Buxtehude, Handel, Caccini, Vivaldi, Mozart, Rheinberger, Zajc and other composers, performed in various combinations of voice, violin and organ.
