Last weekend Falkensteiner Resort Punta Skala was the host of Big Green Egg BBQ Academy, and educational workshop where top grill masters taught hotel guests and all interested the skills of good grilling.

German grill masters Petar Kowalski, Jan Andree and Cedric Nogueira Andradeu and domestic chefs Tomislav Đukić and Dejan Pejović showed, according to the best grill in the world, Green Egg, how to grill various types of meat, fish and vegetables.

The grill also known as kamado, according to its Japanese name and some sources say it is more than 2,500 years old. Its secret is in the top ceramics from which it is made. Presently, the original Green Egg is made of ceramics used by NASA for its aircrafts.

The secret to a good grill is not only in the quality of ceramics but most of all in the fuel the griller uses. At the BBQ Academy it was made known that it is best to grill burning on coal that is produced from vine, olive or apple, and the wood of plants with deep roots and avoid the often-used beech wood.

The Academy organizers prepared, among other things, a small grill event for Zadar reporters and the photos and video show the atmosphere of the get together.
