Zadar Displays The Most Beautiful Sunset In The World

Going for a walk along the Zadar waterfront before dusk from Foša to the unique modern installations, the Sea Organ and the Greeting to the Sun, gives you an unforgettable experience of the most beautiful sunset in the world.

Sun glare on the sea surface

To feel Zadar means to experience it with all your senses. It means walking past the monumental witnesses of its ancient history and the remains of time; absorbing its day and night rhythm in the narrow side-alleys and spacious squares. And then relax in some of the many colourful cafes catching up with the rhythm of the Mediterranean and Dalmatian lazy mood. But there is much more to Zadar than that.

Perfect and crystal clear seawater, whose intoxicating salinity is an inexhaustible and vital source of energy of life, is gently fused with Foša and its town walls from the UNESCO World Heritage List. On one part of that coast, when a light breeze from the south comes up, or a rosemary-soap like aromatic and refreshing summer landward wind, the bathed shore gently sings in its honour reflecting the sun's glare on the surface of the sea.

And while the Sea Organ, a famous, widely known stepped installation on the shore, play to the rhythm of that undulating ecstasy, the astronomical and calendar Greeting to the Sun dances with its light greeting visitors and those who look jealously at this unusual sight.

Zadar is a city whose past dates back at least three thousand years. The foundation stone, says the poet, was laid by the legendary Jason with his Argonauts. Since then, mermaids have been singing about a seaside city which is like the sea called. An Adriatic pearl whose name with time does not fade, and its fame was further enhanced by Alfred Hitchcock, who, while blowing off the smoke from his Habanos, from the Zadar waterfront, admired the most beautiful sunset in the world.
