Completed Three-Day Fish & Jazz Festival
With a concert by Sara and Jappa, daughter and father Brodarić, on Saturday evening, the second Fish & Jazz Festival concluded. The festival was organized by the Tourist Board of the city of Zadar in collaboration with Cromaris, a Zadar-based company and one of the largest white fish producers in Europe. The festival ended as it began: relaxed, with plenty of good, laid-back, and familiar jazz, but also blues, in the splendid spacious ambiance of the Bastion of St Roch on the UNESCO city walls in Zadar.
The promotion of this central area of the Zadar Ramparts of Rebellion, which has been transformed into an attractive open-air concert "hall," is the greatest achievement of this year's Fish & Jazz Festival. In 2017, the Zadar Ramparts received significant recognition as a cultural heritage site by being included in the UNESCO World Heritage List under the "Defensive Systems of the Republic of Venice in the 16th and 17th Centuries." After that, they were thoroughly restored, refurbished, and revitalized, but remained somewhat hidden, away from the main events on the Peninsula. The three-day jazz and gastronomic event revealed all the magic of Muraj and the Bastion of St Roch, which finally came to life on the beautiful terraces of two hospitality establishments, Bastiani Bar and Feral. Every evening, the seating in front of the festival stage was full, as were the terraces of these summer bars, and the Muraj's parapet wall and even the landscaped lawn, where young tourists—summer nomads—stretched out in a Woodstock-like manner, served well for seating.

Cromaris' sea bass and bream fillets, served in burgers or with couscous salad with vegetables, were delicious bites at the hours-long concerts, prepared by renowned chefs Hrvoje Krajnović and Tihomir Bježančević. Original handicrafts, natural aromatic oils, and jewelry at the stalls of a group of young Zadar creatives and artists rounded off this year's brilliant Fish & Jazz Festival.

Sara and Jappa were the dessert for the end of the festival, offering an exceptional musical experience with their minimalist performance—just guitar and voices. It's good to know that their first album will be released soon.
