Iž

The island of Iž is located between the islands of Dugi Otok and Ugljan, from which it is separated by the Middle Channel and the Iž Channel, and is surrounded by ten small islands.

During the Middle Ages it belonged to the noble Zadar families, and two castles are preserved, Canagietti and Fanfogna. The centre of the island is Veli Iž with a modernly equipped marina and the Korinjak Hotel. Iž is famous for the traditional Iž Feast, when they elect the King of Iž for a one-year term.
