Premuda

It is covered with holm oak, low vegetation and olive trees. Premuda is an extremely attractive island for sailors and divers because in its vicinity there are many attractive diving sites, such as the underwater cave system called the Cathedral because of its enchanting beauty. The island has two harbours, the north one called Loza and the south one with a newly built ferry port called Krijal.

The island Premuda, with a village of the same name, is part of the western Zadar Archipelago. It is covered in maquis and low forests. One can spend a vacation here far from daily routine right by the crystal-clear sea. It is a special favourite amongst boaters and sailors and recreational fishermen, with anchoring provided in Krijal Bay. Premuda is a superb place for diving enthusiasts with the wreckage of a dreadnought of the Austro-Hungarian Navy, the SMS Szent István. The sunken boat was discovered upside down in the mid-1970s. It was declared a protected site by the Croatian Ministry of Culture.

In summer, Premuda has a daily fast boat connection with Zadar, and in the winter the ferry operates three times a day. There are apartments and rooms to rent and the number of tourists keeps increasing from year to year.
